FAQs
Wrap Legacy
How long does a vinyl car wrap last, and will it damage my paint?
A premium vinyl car wrap from Wrap Legacy typically lasts between 3 to 5 years, with the lifespan depending on factors such as the quality of the film, local climate conditions, and vehicle maintenance. Our wraps are designed to be completely safe for your vehicle's paint. In fact, they can provide an additional layer of protection against sun damage, scratches, and chips. When installed and removed by our professionals, a vinyl wrap will not cause any harm to your car's original paint finish. Can I choose a custom design or color for my car wrap?
Certainly. At Wrap Legacy, we excel in creating custom vinyl wrap designs for various vehicles including cars, trucks, and SUVs. Our extensive selection includes hundreds of vinyl wrap options, allowing you to choose from solid color changes, matte, satin, gloss, chrome finishes, or custom printed graphics. This wide range of choices ensures that we can accommodate your personal preferences or align with your brand identity. What's the difference between paint protection film and ceramic coating?
Paint protection film (PPF) is a transparent, thick, self-healing film that provides physical protection to your vehicle's paint from road debris, rock chips, and scratches. Ceramic coating, on the other hand, is a liquid polymer applied to the vehicle's surface, creating a hydrophobic barrier that enhances gloss and simplifies cleaning. Many of our clients opt to combine both treatments for comprehensive protection - using PPF on high-impact areas and applying ceramic coating to the entire vehicle for maximum shine and protection. How long does PPF last and what parts of the car should I protect?
Our high-grade paint protection film can last up to a decade with proper maintenance. Common areas for PPF application include the hood, front bumper, headlights, mirrors, fenders, and door edges. For those seeking complete vehicle protection, we also offer full-body PPF wraps. What is ceramic window tint and how is it different from regular tint?
Ceramic window tint is an advanced form of window film that effectively blocks heat, glare, and UV rays without interfering with electronic signals such as GPS or cellular communications. Unlike traditional dyed or metallic tints, ceramic tint offers superior heat rejection and visual clarity. It excels at keeping your vehicle's interior cool and protected from sun damage, making it an ideal choice for luxury and high-performance vehicles. Is ceramic tint legal in California, and what are the shade options?
Ceramic tint is indeed legal in California, provided it adheres to state tint regulations. California law requires front side windows to have at least 70% visible light transmission (VLT). Rear and back side windows are permitted to have darker tints. At Wrap Legacy, we provide a range of ceramic tint shades that comply with local regulations while meeting your preferences. How does ceramic coating protect my car, and how often should I reapply it?
Ceramic coating forms a durable, invisible protective layer on your vehicle's surface, safeguarding it against UV rays, chemical stains, bird droppings, water spots, and minor scratches. It also significantly enhances the ease of cleaning your vehicle. The longevity of ceramic coatings varies based on the package selected, typically ranging from 2 to over 5 years. To maintain optimal performance, we recommend annual inspections and maintenance. Can ceramic coating be applied over PPF or vinyl wrap?
Indeed, ceramic coating is fully compatible with both paint protection film and vinyl wraps. Applying a ceramic coating over your wrap or PPF enhances its glossy appearance, adds hydrophobic properties, and improves ease of maintenance. This combination is an excellent strategy for extending the lifespan and preserving the aesthetic appeal of your wrap or film. How long does each service take and can I drop my car off early or late?
Service duration varies depending on the specific treatment: full wraps typically require 3-5 days, PPF installation takes 5-7 days, ceramic tint application lasts 2-4 hours, and ceramic coating services span 1-2 days. We offer flexible drop-off and pick-up options by appointment to accommodate your schedule. Please inform our team of your timing preferences, and we will make every effort to meet your needs.Do you offer warranties on wraps, tint, PPF, or ceramic coating services?
Wrap Legacy provides warranty coverage for all our services. Vinyl wraps are covered for up to 5 years, depending on the film type. PPF comes with a warranty of up to 10 years. Ceramic tint is backed by a lifetime warranty. Ceramic coating warranties range from 2 to 5 years, based on the chosen package.
